Veteran Entrepreneur Program touring Texas as part of Governor’s Small Business Series

The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Veteran Entrepreneur Program travels to different cities in Texas each month as part of the Office of the Governor’s Small Business Series. These events provide actionable guidance from experts on starting, strengthening and growing a business; plus, networking with fellow entrepreneurs.

In October, the series visited South Padre Island. Topics presented included Marketing and Communications, Access to Funding & Financing, Micro-Credentialing & Certifications, Leveraging Technology in Your Business and Recruiting, Training & Retention. The October event featured First Lady of Texas, Mrs. Cecilia Abbott and Congresswoman Mayra Flores as speakers. Representing TVC’s Entrepreneur program at the event was Business Consultant, Jose Sanchez, who met with local business owners. “We attend this event each month at the request of the Governor in support of all veteran small business owners,” said Megan Tamez, pictured, TVC Veteran Entrepreneur Program Director and Army veteran. “We meet with veteran attendees to assist with any entrepreneurial questions they may have.”
