Audie Murphy VA Hospital Designated a Military Order of the Purple Heart Hospital

On February 24, 2020, the Audie L Murphy Memorial VA Hospital became the first VA Hospital in the nation to be honored and designated a Military Order of the Purple Heart Hospital. Additionally, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, to which the hospital belongs, became the third system in the nation to be honored with the Purple Heart designation. CLOSED: Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Offices

The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Regional Offices will be closed to the public starting March 19. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the DEPT OF VA, VETERANS BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION (VBA) has directed that VBA Public Contact Offices no longer accept walk-ins for claims assistance, scheduled appointments, counseling and other in-person services.

The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) values the health and safety of Texas veterans, their families, and spouses. To reduce exposure to the COVID-19 virus, the TVC now provides its services via virtual meetings until further notice.
