$880,788 in emergency funding grants approved for veteran services organizations

As of April 20, 2020, $880,788 in additional, emergency grant funding from the Texas Veterans Commission’s (TVC) Fund for Veterans Assistance (FVA) has been approved to 16 organizations providing veterans services across the state. The additional funds are to assist with increased service demands brought on by the coronavirus/COVID-19 State of Emergency.

Claims assistance continues on, $280K+ in examples below

A Blue Water Navy Agent Orange compensation for a Kerrville area veteran and a correction on a form for a San Antonio area veteran highlight veterans’ Claims successes in March.

In Kerrville, Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Claims Benefits Advisor (CBA) Tammi Franklin’s work with a veteran on a Blue Water Navy claim resulted in the veteran being awarded $39,350 annually, plus $227,011 in retroactive compensation. The veteran previously had no claims benefits compensation.
