Continue ReadingAt the quarterly Texas Veterans Commission meeting on May 9, 2023, Commissioners awarded Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) grants totaling $36,347,000 to be distributed among 135 organizations across the state. FVA grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations and local government agencies which provide direct services to veterans and their families. The grants are anticipated to serve over 81,770 veterans and their families.

Last year, clinical services and peer support was provided to over 34,000 veterans, their family members and active duty military by Texas Veteran Commission certified Peer Service Coordinators of the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) and Rural Veteran Counselors.
