A Day of Recognition and Service for Women Veterans on June 3

Women veterans are invited to join in a recognition and service event which will honor their service and offers the opportunity to help other veterans, active military and first responders. The event, A Day of Recognition and Service, is hosted by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Women Veterans Program and Operation Gratitude on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in San Antonio.

$36.3 million in grants approved for 135 veteran service organizations across Texas

At the quarterly Texas Veterans Commission meeting on May 9, 2023, Commissioners awarded Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) grants totaling $36,347,000 to be distributed among 135 organizations across the state. FVA grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations and local government agencies which provide direct services to veterans and their families. The grants are anticipated to serve over 81,770 veterans and their families.

“That’s how you save lives” Military Veteran Peer Network & Rural Counselors serve over 34K veterans, family members, active duty

Last year, clinical services and peer support was provided to over 34,000 veterans, their family members and active duty military by Texas Veteran Commission certified Peer Service Coordinators of the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) and Rural Veteran Counselors.
