Sunset Review of the Texas Veterans Commission

Statement on Retail Ready Career Center Closure

AUSTIN – On Sept. 20, 2017, the Texas Veterans Commission was informed that a search warrant had been executed at the Retail Ready Career Center in Garland, Texas which is being investigated by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of the Inspector General.

Federal Government Continues Response to Hurricane Harvey

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its federal partners continue to mobilize personnel and resources to support state, local and tribal efforts throughout Texas and Louisiana. More than 21,000 federal staff are deployed in support of Tropical Storm Harvey response.
