Ukrainian entrepreneurs meet with Texas veteran business owners

Ukrainian entrepreneurs visited Austin in late March to learn from Texas business owners about their business practices, leadership skills and networking. Their visit was coordinated by American Councils for International Education and Ukrainian Business Leaders – Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship (UBL-PIE) at an event hosted by U.T. Austin. At the event, the visiting Ukrainians learned from military veteran entrepreneurs and business owners who were there as part of Texas Veteran Commission (TVC) Entrepreneur Program participation in the event. The veteran entrepreneurs were selected with the Ukrainians business interests in mind and introduced at the event by TVC Entrepreneur Program Business Consultant and Air Force veteran Greg Shigemasa.

The veterans and their business included:

Rebecca Dupuy – Lone Star Riverboat, Inc. Lone Star Riverboat Cruises

Christina Mortel – Get Write To Business, LLC – Home – Get Write To Business

Rick and Laura Narpaul – MACH I, LLC – Roadside Services Welcome – The First of It’s Kind – Mach1 Services Roadside Assistance
MACH I is a Bunker Labs Veterans in Residence Pitch Competition Winner.

The UBL PIE Program aims to empower entrepreneurs, innovators, and businesspersons from across Ukraine with the skills to develop innovative economic, policy, and business solutions. Through a hands-on fellowship in the United States, participants are exposed to sound business practices, leadership skills, and networking opportunities that will position them as leaders to effect change in their businesses and communities.
