$880,788 in emergency funding grants approved for veteran services organizations

As of April 20, 2020, $880,788 in additional, emergency grant funding from the Texas Veterans Commission’s (TVC) Fund for Veterans Assistance (FVA) has been approved to 16 organizations providing veterans services across the state. The additional funds are to assist with increased service demands brought on by the coronavirus/COVID-19 State of Emergency.

Organizations receiving the supplemental funding were previously approved to receive grants by the FVA in the current grant cycle. The FVA awards annual grants to non-profit organizations and local governments who provide a wide range of assistance to veterans and their families ranging from financial to transportation, legal services to family support services and home modification to rental and mortgage assistance.

Veterans may find services in their area by clicking on FVA grantees. Or, chose from the regional directories below.

In March, TVC Commissioners approved the emergency funding procedures for current FVA Grant organizations to request additional funding for providing critical services to Texas veterans and their families throughout the COVID-19 State of Emergency.
