On September 13, 2023, the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) presented $1,840,000 in grants to nine organizations for providing services to approximately 1,840 East Texas veterans and their families.

The 5th annual Austin Veteran Arts Festival (AVAFest) is preparing launch on Oct. 14 and runs through Nov. 13. It features concerts, comedy, veteran art exhibits, dance and performing arts, book fair and festival, discussion groups and more. AVAfest also includes tournament including pickle ball and golf.
