Have a business idea or thinking of starting a franchise?

“We have a lot of veterans that call and have lots of ideas for different businesses and that’s where we help them do some market research to determine if that’s a viable business,” said Maggie Peterson, Veteran Entrepreneur Business Consultant of the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) and Air Force veteran. “We can help get veterans connected with how to decide or find a good franchise program to buy into.”

TVC’s Entrepreneur Program assists veterans and their spouses with everything from business plan assistance to finding financing, helping them with copyrights and patents, structuring their businesses and more. Hear Peterson give tips and talk more about being an entrepreneur at The Voice of Texas Veterans.

Established veteran owned businesses can receive assistance from TVC’s Veteran Entrepreneur Business Consultants as well. Further, the Entrepreneur Program hosts events including question and answer sessions with businesses representatives. Peterson encourages established veteran owned businesses to display that status with TVC’s Veteran-Owned Business logo.

“A lot of people like to do business with veterans, small businesses and especially veteran owned businesses,” said Peterson. “The benefit is showcasing the fact that you are a veteran owned business.”
