Statement on Brightwood College, Virginia College, and Golf Academy Closures

AUSTIN – The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) has been informed that Education Corporation of America is closing, or has already closed, several educational/training institutions in Texas: Brightwood College, Virginia College, and Golf Academy.

Dear fellow Texans:

From August through November of 1918, Texans were fully engaged in the Great War. Nearly 200,000 were in uniform, many of them fighting in France. Over 5,100 would not return. They came from every community; from big cities and small towns. They were of all races, religions, and ethnicities. $6.6 million grant from Arnold Foundation to fund Texas Policy Lab at Rice U.

HOUSTON – Rice University’s School of Social Sciences will launch an effort this fall to work side-by-side with Texas’ officeholders and state agencies to solve some of the state’s most pressing problems.
