This panel will discuss the new wave of psychological and philosophical explorations in the realm of post-traumatic growth, a concept that refers to positive psychological change experienced as a result of struggling with highly challenging life crises or traumatic events. Before the panel, there will be the premiere speak peak screening of Part 1 of the new documentary “Dark Night of Our Soul: Exploring the Evolutionary Purpose of Trauma”

About the Filmmakers & Panelists

RICK ALEXANDER (WRITER)
Rick Alexander is an author, speaker, psychedelic practitioner, and coach. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Pacifica Graduate Institute where he studies comparative mythology and depth psychology, following the path of scholars like Joseph Campbell and C.G. Jung. His written material, lectures, and personal client work draw heavily from contemplative spiritual traditions of the East and West and are centered in Depth and Archetypal psychology. He speaks and writes on psychological wellness, the Hero’s Journey, and the quest to find meaning in life. Recently, he’s taught workshops and lectured for organizations around the world including the United States Air Force, and Bell Canada, as well as for specialized retreats, private events, and academic conferences.

JESSICA DEPATIE (PRODUCER)
Jessica Depatie is an Austin, Texas-based documentary and podcast producer. With a background in journalism, marketing, and shadow work education her content is centered on the conviction that we are seeing crises in multitudes as the old operating system breaks down while the new is struggling to emerge because of a lack of Self-understanding.

DR. DANIELLE ALEXANDER (PRACTITIONER)
Dr. Danielle Alexander is an interdisciplinary professional dedicated to exploring the intricate connections between psychology, somatics, and healing trauma. With a Master’s degree in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, specializing in Jungian and Archetypal studies, she helps those affected by trauma re-member the stories of the soul through the body. She does this as a depth psychologically-oriented Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, leveraging somatic techniques to facilitate healing and restore balance to the mind-body connection. With a background as a clinically trained Doctor of Physical Therapy, she brings a holistic approach to her practice in addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being.
