Lila is a regular guest speaker for Veteran students at Baylor University and her book Battle Buddy is used during in-class discuss on military transition. She is a highly sought after keynote and workshop facilitator for military units having served as keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Women Veterans Conference for the state of Massachusetts in May 2018, Leadership Professional Development workshop facilitator for 3rd Cavalry Regiment, guest speaker at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, workshop facilitator for the Steven A. Lila also served as guest speaker for Greater St Luke’s AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina 2019 Women’s History month program, keynote speaker for the 2018 annual gala of the Zeta Epsilon Graduate Chapter in Lawton, Oklahoma, Texas A&M San Antonio for MLK Jr. Dream Week 2017, and Baylor University during their Peer Leader Conference. Lila’s passion to provide an environment for Military Women to share their incredible stories has birthed many projects on multiple platforms to include the online radio show ‘In Session with the Camouflaged Sisters’ through Heroes Media Group media network; Forward March magazine (on hiatus) which launched in December 2016; and additional book projects and live events. Lila is also growing an online community where Military Women can connect, post blogs and journal entries, share helpful articles and resources, and stay informed about upcoming projects and live events.
Lila is the proud wife of a fellow Veteran, mother and grandmother. Her children are published authors as well. Lila’s 15-year-old daughter self-published three books and was a finalist for the IALA 2016 Youth Author of the Year award. Lila’s adult son self-published two books and has created a wonderful life for his family in Kansas.
