Texas Veterans Commission recognizes State Rep. Sheffield

TEMPLE – The Texas Veterans Commission will recognize State Rep. Ralph Sheffield for his work on behalf of Texas Veterans during a Veteran Entrepreneur Seminar the agency is conducting on Saturday, February 1, from 9:00 am until 4:15 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1749 Scott Blvd., Temple, Texas 76504.

“Rep. Sheffield has continually advocated for Texas Veterans and their families and his work on the Veteran Entrepreneur Program was consistent with that focus,” said Thomas Palladino, Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Commission. “He is one of the few legislators that has twice been recognized by the Commission for his legislative achievements on behalf of Texas Veterans.”

Rep. Sheffield represents Texas House District 55, which includes Temple and the majority of Bell County, and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Texas House Committee on Defense and Veterans Affairs. This past legislative session, Rep. Sheffield sponsored Senate Bill 1476, the legislation which created the Veteran Entrepreneur Program at the Texas Veterans Commission.

“Being a part of helping establish the Veterans Entrepreneur Program in Texas was one of the highlights of the 83rd Legislative Session,” stated Rep. Ralph Sheffield. “Knowing that I have the opportunity to do whatever I can to help our Texas Veterans is a very special feeling. This event will be a great opportunity for our veterans and I hope every veteran will take advantage of this informative program.”

The purpose of the Veteran Entrepreneur Program is to foster and promote veteran business ownership throughout the State of Texas. The Veteran Entrepreneur Seminar in Temple kicks off a statewide seminar series which will provide direct assistance and information to Veteran entrepreneurs and business owners in the areas of:
