“Please join DFW Metroplex veterans, military, advocates and volunteers during the 2nd annual Freedom Day of Service and Remembrance, to honor the lives tragically lost and those profoundly changed on 9.11.01.

We will gather in a remote, outdoor & physically distanced setting, to build Valor Ranch’s 1st aquaponic garden with the goal to feed a community of over 200 people per week.”

Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Where: Valor Ranch

This year Valor Ranch will host the second annual remote, and physically distanced Freedom Day community service project with hopes to activate 50 volunteers to build a community Aquaponic garden with the potential to feed up to 270 people per week.

The produce garden will feed SHEROES in transition, provide a source of revenue from farmers’ markets as well as help those in the community who have been affected by COVID-19. The fish utilized in maintaining the aquaponic garden will also provide another food resource.

This community project is one that continues to give as volunteers will grow their knowledge in the art of setting-up and maintaining an aquaponic garden. Volunteers will leave with a skillset that can be utilized at another greenhouse facility or to grow their own personal garden.
