Entrepreneur program guides veteran owned B&M Cycles to $10K grant & growth

Veteran owned B&M Cycles in Springtown, Texas was ready to capitalize on business growth. To help them do so, owners Brian and Meghan Johnson reached out to the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Veteran Entrepreneur Program (VEP), which they had established a relationship with through their Veteran Owned Business verification. The Johnsons were provided with information on grants with detailed dates on when the grants closed, and which ones may be the best fit for their business.

This led them to apply for a grant from the FedEx® Entrepreneur Fund via Hello Alice. Ultimately, B&M Cycles was awarded a $10,000 grant in November 2022.

“We are still so excited that we won. It was a game changer and really helped our new business. I appreciate all that you (TVC Entrepreneur Program) do to help veterans and their families,” said Meghan.

The grant helped B&M Cycles grow by adding a position to their business so that they could keep up with demand; plus, further their growth.

“When we applied for the grant, that was our game plan, we wanted to bring on another person,” said Meghan. “It helped us bring on and pay another person until the growth brought about by the new employee sustained their own payroll.” Meghan noted the new employee is also a veteran.

Congratulations B&M Cycles !
