Peer Support Services are provided by South Texas Afghan Iraq Veterans Assoc (STAIVA), a City/Municipal Government based in Brownsville, Texas. Weekly Peer-to-Peer groups will serve veterans, dependents, and surviving spouses during the year. Participants' moods will become more positive, and stressors will be less severe as evidenced by quarterly surveys and progress notes. All beneficiaries will fill out the Veteran's Administration Whole Health Personal Health Inventory before, during, and after the peer-delivered service activities. Groups will assist veterans/dependents to gain knowledge and develop positive coping mechanisms.
