Considering filing a claim? “Give VA your Intent to File” says Ward County VCSO

Out in west Texas, Ward County is home to flat land, a big sky, the Pyote Rattlesnake Bomber Base and Veteran County Service Officer (VCSO) Willie Andino.

“Come see the Veteran Service Officer in your community; or, if you’re thinking of filing a claim and haven’t started, call 800-827-1000 and let the VA know you have an ITF (intent to file),” said Willie Andino, Ward County VCSO and Army veteran.

Andino assists veterans in Ward and surrounding counties with any paperwork needed in applying for VA benefits.

“I have had several Veterans finally get their well-deserved benefits. One in particular came in and told me I ‘made him a rich man’ and showed me a picture of his just over $44k check.”

Andino retired from the US Army in 2018 after 32 years, “12 active, 20 National Guard and Reserves,” he noted. He is active in his community as Commander for VFW Post 4004.  “We meet the third Monday of each month at 8 p.m.”

Andino’s office is in the Ward County Courthouse on 400 S. Allen Ave. in Monahans. Veterans may visit him there or contact him by phone at 432 943-4271 or email willie.andino@co.ward.tx.us .
