Congressional Veteran Commendation presented to Rural Veteran Career Advisor Baillio

Texas Fourth District Congressman and Air Force veteran Pat Fallon presented his Congressional Veterans Commendation to Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Rural Veteran Career Advisor Katie Baillio.  The presentation was made November 10, 2022 at a ceremony held at the Plano Flags of Honor.

“Katie has done an outstanding job assisting veterans in the Denison area. She has been awarded twice as the American Legion DVOP (Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist) of the Year for the State of Texas, and the DAV DVOP of the Year in 2021,” said Ron Abrams, TVC Veteran Employment Services (VES) North Texas District Outreach Coordinator and Army veteran. “She is very active with the VFW and American Legion Chapters in her area assisting veterans during her personal time.”

Baillio enlisted in the United States Army in 1992 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. She served two tours Korea and one tour in Iraq. Her stateside duty included Fort Bragg, Fort Drum and Fort Bliss. Baillio joined TVC in June 2015. As part of the TVC Veteran Employment Services North Texas District Team, she is based out of the American Job Center in Denison.

The Veterans Employment Program is 99% funded through the federal grant, “Texas Jobs for Veterans State Grant Program” totaling $16,290,842.00.  An additional 1% of the program is funded with state general revenue in the amount of $122,229.00.
