Business mentors, protégés sought for HUB program

The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) is seeking experienced, HUB certified Veteran-owned small businesses and new Veteran-owned small businesses to pair in a new HUB Mentor/Protégé Program.

“As a mentor, we are looking for companies that are HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) Certified, have experience responding to Local, State or Federal contracting opportunities, and are willing to volunteer time to mentor veteran owned protégé companies in construction, services or commodities,” said Christina Mortel, Business Consultant of TVC’s Veteran Entrepreneur Program.

“As a protégé,  if you have been in business for at least one year, willing to become HUB Certified or already are HUB Certified, and interested in developing insights in business, financial, marketing and other technical areas, we encourage you to apply,” said Mortel.

TVC is accepting HUB Mentor/Protégé applications until June 30, 2021. The program is scheduled to launch Sept 1, 2021. The HUB Mentor/Protégé Program application can be downloaded from the Texas Comptroller website. Send completed application to Connect With a Business Consultant, Attention: HUB Outreach Coordinator.
